Job Description Our client is a supplier of ingredients primarily sold to the following industries: Food, Nutrition, Cosmetic, and Pharmaceutical. Our North American operations are focused on nutrition and health with a diversified portfolio of products including of consumer foods, food ingredients, sweeteners, amino acids, nutraceuticals, and specialty & personal care products. Overview: • This position is responsible for managing and executing the distribution, marketing, and sales activities of gelatin, collagen, and related products for our client. The ideal candidate for this position is a proven Brand Developer. We are looking for a driven, energetic professional who is able to multi-task effectively, and will provide creative input to successfully advance our brand. • A successful candidate will be one who has a record of leadership and can decisively produce results. • The Brand Manager will develop our brands of fish gelatin, collagen and related products of our affiliate. • The Brand Manager will be responsible for successfully developing and implementing a retail collagen business for the U.S. and Canada in the first year followed by global expansion. • The Brand Manager will collaborate with other departments and resources to develop the distribution of these products. • This position will require the Brand Manager to become the product application expert, understanding the current customers applications and expanding applications and will practice customer centered Brand Management. • Brand Manager will become the regulatory requirements expert for all matters related to these products Overview of Responsibilities: • Marketing & Sales of products in the U.S., Canada, Central America, South America, and Europe. Occasional trips to Japan. Must have passport or be able to secure one. • Perform regular market research studies to gather important brand data • Develop custom brand and customer management plans for each product/customer and submit updated summaries on brand exposure to management each month • Develop, plan, and implement strategic selling plans, qualify customer targets and achieve sales and profit growth objectives. • Maintain contact with vendors and distributors to get critical input on how product design and implementation can be improved • Work closely with outside agencies to manage brand marketing campaigns • Identify, qualify and develop new business opportunities. • Establish productive, professional relationships with key personnel at assigned accounts in order to maximize sales opportunities. • Proactively assess, clarify and validate customer needs on an ongoing basis to ensure optimum customer satisfaction. • Direct involvement in the complete technical sales cycle to include formal customer presentations, technical discussions, product trials, overcoming objections, negotiations and closing supply agreements/contracts. • Collaboration and teamwork skills working with management, research & development, manufacturing, and operations. • Strong drive for results and a proactive approach to identify and complete tasks without direct supervision and when needed, to proactively communicate upward issues to management for additional resolution. • Assure overall customer satisfaction with regard to quality, service and delivery. Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities: • Strong written communications & project management skills. • Exceptional verbal and report presentation abilities. • Ability to work across an organization and lead in a matrix environment. • Ability to rapidly learn, apply and introduce new material technologies • Flexible and adaptable to change. • Working knowledge of the technical issues important to the markets and customers served. • Proven effective interfacing with and influencing customers at all levels and functions. • Recognized for having a very strong drive for results - ability to take a proactive approach to identify, create and deliver new business with minimal supervision. Minimum Job Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Food Science, Business, Marketing, or related major. • Minimum of six (6) years of successful experience in B2C Marketing/Advertising management or Brand/Product Management from a related market. • Demonstrated experience working with and managing accounts, ideally introducing new materials offering improved functionality and enhanced environmental benefits. Proof of sales territory growth and new business development required. • Must be proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, CRM and forecasting systems/software.
