Job Description Our client is a producer of value added food ingredients and specialties for the food manufacturing industry. We are looking to hire an enthusiastic, intelligent, and motivated seller. Someone who has a technical background in Food Science, Microbiology, or Chemistry but yet enjoys the daily interaction with customers and helping to solve complex food science issues for them. We would like to hire someone already living in the Northeast USA (NJ/NY/PA preferred). Our client serves primarily the further processed meats industry and produces functional ingredients that help food processors improve their products by inhibiting pathogens, extending product shelf-life, reducing sodium content, enhancing product flavor, maintaining yields and improving product quality – tenderness, flavor, slice-ability, and color. • Work directly with customers on product development, timelines and commercialization to deliver products to market that meet specifications • Provide technical expertise on sales presentations with customers to drive growth and profitability • Design communication tools essential for sales presentations • Work from home when not on the road visiting with customers • Make occasional visits to the Headquarters location in the Oak Brook area • Act as the technical support contact for customers and resolve issues and complaints as they arise Qualifications: • Must have a Bachelors degree. A specific degree in Food Science, Chemistry, or other natural science is desired. • Must have 2 years minimum experience in outside sales • Must have worked for either a food manufacturer or a food ingredient producer / supplier • Prior experience in meat science, meat processing, or meat applications is highly desired • Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident (no sponsorship) • Must have an outgoing and engaging personality.
